dc.description.abstract | The soap and detergent industry has a great amount of waste water resulting from the industrial processes and so does MLDL industry. The waste water from the industry has always been released before it is purely treated .this is totally against the environmental regulations and can cause environmental regulatory issues with the industry.
As a remedy for this, a project on how to treat the waste water before its release was discussed in this report. The method of treatment chosen was ozonolysis depending on the factors that have been elaborated on this report. The experiment was run and the waste treatment parameters tested to test for the efficient of the ozonolysis.
The water was tested for all the parameter before and after treatment by ozonolysis. From the results obtained, the water colour changed from dark grey to light grey, DO: 0.72mg/l to 1.1mg/l, pH from 6.97 to 8.39, TDS: 760.50mg/l to 732.25 mg/l and COD 368.8 mg/l to 275.2 mg/l Basing on the above results, it can be concluded that the effect of ozonolysis in waste treatment
is significant. Hence it is recommended that the plant should adopt the above project so as its waste does not negatively affect the environment. | en_US |
