Automatic Capacity Management/Dimensioning tool for cellular networks is crucial in ensuring that cellular communication resources are allocated optimally to handle available traffic load with minimum system congestion and effective utilization of expensive resources. To achieve such an optimum design, capacity planning must be based on actual traffic demand available in the intended areas of coverage. Capacity planning is the most important phase in the life cycle of a cellular network system. It determines the operational expenditure, capital expenditure, as well as long-term performance of the system. The aim is to maximize the coverage and this gave rise to the need for optimizing techniques of capacity planning. In this study, we designed an Automatic Capacity Management /Dimensioning tool for cellular networks i.e. 2G, 3G, and 4G. Based on the historical traffic data as an input, this tool uses a mathematical optimization algorithm to automatically output, an optimal deployable capacity plan for all cellular networks except 5G.en_US
