Imagery and themes of work and wealth in selected Ganda proverbs
Abstract
Baganda are a large and proud group of Luganda speaking people who belong to the Bantu ethnic group and occupy the central region of Uganda.
The kingdom respected its culture be it the social, political or economic organization and forever fought for its supremacy which still stands today. According to New Africa (2015), “Baganda people make nearly 6million of Uganda’s population and, control a sizeable percentage of the country’s wealth held in land around the central and other forms of assets.
