    Abstract
This research set out to analyze the symbolism embedded in Ganda folktales and their status in the contemporary life of the Baganda people. It involves a collection of eight folktales selected folktales from individuals in the field and extensive reading to compare works that have covered similar topics. It was centered on the use of a theoretical approach to critically interpret the symbolism embedded within the eight selected folktales.
