Uganda has a high maternal mortality rate of 336 deaths per 100,000 live births. One of the leading causes is the delay to detect danger signs and attend to them such as high blood pressure during pregnancy. This project seeks to reduce this delay by providing a cost effective, smart and scalable system used to remotely monitor blood pressure of pregnant mothers. Blood pressure measurements shall be transmitted and displayed to doctors regardless of their location, and alert messages sent in case of abnormal blood pressure readings. This has many benefits as it will reduce transportation costs for routine check-ups, ensure timely flow of information and ensuring proper emergency response is initiated thus mitigating the negative effects of delaysen_US
