Then a correlation study design was employed to determine the significant relationships between employee engagement and work performance. The study found out that a positive moderate correlation between occupational stress and marital stress. The correlation r=0.432 was significant at p=0.000 <0.01 level. This means that a relationship between the two variables existed. Computing the coefficient of determination, it was found that marital stress had a 20.4% effect on work performance. The study recommended that there is need to increase on the number of lecturers to reduce on the workload which stresses the lecturers hence a shortage of staff and heavy workload lead to occupational stress which has been shown to affect job performance and lastly lecturers performance is also affected by stressors such as family relationships and something needs to be done to manage stress and increase work performance. | en_US |
