The study examined the effect of on-street parking in Uganda mostly in Kampala in relation on traffic flow. The study adopted a correlation design which was quantitative in approach and cross section in nature. The study population consisted of all roads in Kampala District which are provided with on-street parking from which a sample of seven roads was drawn using a combination of stratified and cluster random sampling. The study sample only considered legal on-street parking for analysis. Field data was collected in different ways by use of tape measure to know the width of the travel lane and a camera was also employed to record videos know the time delays encountered in joining and leaving parking stalls. The collected data was presented and analyzed using tables, bar graphs line and curves. Also some data from secondary sources was interpolated so that estimates could be made to have the different road width capacities. A significant relationship between on-street parking utilization and road capacity, Lane width on capacity, and utilization of parking spaces on entry and exit time from parking space were established and it was realized that on-street parking inhibits the ease of movement of traffic as on-street parking narrows the right of way where its provision creates bottleneck on the road and slow down traffic on an average 6.12 seconds and 8.22 seconds in joining and leaving respectively around all the sampled roads.en_US
