The sulphur cycle provides enormous applications for industry without bounds to national economic statuses. The purpose of this study is to underline the major developments in the use of the sulphur cycle and its bacteria to produce elemental sulphur. Studying major works from 1953 to 2019, this study analyzed the major parameters that need to be optimized for the production of sulphur using bacteria and compared several authors’ contributions. The main parameters found to influence the production of sulphur using bacteria were PH, temperature, substrate concentrations and electron acceptor. The study clearly shows that the parameters for sulphur production can be optimized, and selective sulphur production is possible. Further studies are needed to provide quantitative data on how much sulphur can be produced with various species, the economic feasibility of the process, the details of the design of reactors and any environmental impact assessments.en_US
