The objective of the study was to find out the factors associated with early resumption of sexual intercourse among postnatal women in Uganda. The study population included postpartum women who came for postnatal care (after six weeks postpartum) or brought their babies for immunization (within six months postpartum). A total of 270 women were studied. Secondary data was collected from Mengo Hospital Ante Natal Clinics. Collected data was analyzed quantitatively and was tabulated. The study investigated the demographic and socio-economic factors associated with early resumption of sexual intercourse among postnatal women in Uganda as well as evaluated the effect of psychosexual health educational intervention on delaying ERSP among couples. The study found out that 23.3% of the women resumed sexual intercourse before the recommended 6 weeks. According to the study, it was seen that parity, occupation of the woman and coercion into sexual activity by partner had a significant relationship with early resumption among post-natal women. It was also concluded from the findings that the psychosexual education intervention had a significant positive impact on delaying ERSP; it was therefore recommended that sensitization concerning the dangers involved in ERSP be addressed during Antenatal sessions.en_US
