This work illustrates in detail the design and construction of a brooder temperature monitor needed for monitoring of temperature in a brooder. The device allows the user set a desired temperature range using the Ar-duino IDE for uploading the command once. The device works on a dc source of 5 V. A Dallas DS18B20 temperature sensor, connected to an Ar-duino Uno board is used to monitor the temperature inside the brooder. A buzzer connected to the Arduino board is used to make an alarm when the brooder temperature goes out of the set range. Three LEDs are also connected to the same board and they indicate the working temperature status that is green shows normal temperature, red shows high temperature and yellow shows low temperature. The temperature is regulated by the user until it’s almost stable around the set temperature range. The system works well in the temperature range of 5oC - 75oC with a very small error of ± 0.5oC. The temperature range set varies depending on the stage of the chicks in the brooders as per the poultry data sheets.en_US
