dc.description.abstractThis research analyzes the use of hyperbole in Iteso folk tales. It examined the importance of hyperbole in the selected Iteso folk tales. It also identified how hyperbole is represented in the folk tales driving to the conclusion that hyperbole is an outstanding device that is used to teach moral lessons to the children and youth among the Iteso society. I collected data using both primary and secondary sources comprising of a collection of six Iteso folk tales. I also used observation, interviewing and recording methods to collect data. The findings of this study is that hyperbole is greatly employed in Iteso folk tales to serve the edutainment purpose.en_US
