| dc.description.abstract | This research examines how the universal concept of masculinity is viewed through the oral literature genre of legends, basically focusing on the Baganda legends. The thesis expounds the perception of the picture of a man in the Baganda society through
the representation of legends. Manhood in the Baganda society can never be talked about without the concept of masculinity being expressed since it is a patriarchy society. This drives to the conclusion that masculinity is an element portrayed as part
of the Baganda cultural values as well. It is therefore the core purpose of this study to examine how the concept of masculinity is represented in the selected Baganda legends. I used primary and secondary research design so as to collect a detailed thesis
elaborative enough to add to the academic value of the future generation. | en_US |
