dc.description.abstractSatire is very important in folktales, it makes the stories interesting and enjoyable. This is because of too much use of irony, exaggeration and humour. Satire is mostly used to ridicule and expose the follies in society. The purpose of this study is to dig out the importance of satire in the Acholi Community. The findings of this study will guide other researchers who are interested in studying oral literature and forms, especially in the Acholi community. This study used methods like interviews, and recording to find out the required information that is the values of satire since most scholars have not taken their time to explore the values of satire in Acholi folktales.en_US
