This research dissertation is about the analysis of the effect of COVID-19 on e-commerce businesses with a case study of Nakasero. I was motivated to carry out this study basing on the significant effects of COVID-19. The main objective of the study was to critically find out effect of COVID-19 on e-commerce business. To carry out the study, primary data was collected using a questionnaire. Findings have shown that COVID-19 negatively affected employment. Many e-commerce businesses before COVID-19 employed above 8 workers but however after COVID-19 they reduced them to 3 workers. COVID-19 negatively affected sales by (83.3%), it further more reduced profits by (58.2%) and overall costs increased by (64.4%). Findings of this study also revealed that there was a significant relationship between sales and COVID-19. It also indicated that there a significant relationship between profits and COVID-19. The conclusion drawn from this research indicates that there is definitely a significant relationship between COVID-19 and profits of and the employment situation of e-commerce businesses. Furthermore, COVID-19 negatively affected the profits and the employment levels of e-commerce businesses. Based on the existing loop holes and the conclusion from this research, I recommend measures like reduction in internet fees, easy access to credit for e-commerce based entrepreneurs, digital advertisement and others mentioned below in chapter 5 to give e-commerce businesses a hand in fighting and coping with the effects from COVID-19.en_US
