This research presents an empirical study that analyses the impact of spatial planning intervention on water supply in urban areas specifically Kampala city and in Makerere two cell. This will help to come up with ideas that will help to coordinate and integrate water supply and spatial planning during the physical planning process. The research involved mainly four objectives; to establish the state and extent of spatial planning intervention, to map the water supply systems, investigate how water systems have been integrated into spatial planning, and establishing gaps in spatial planning that affect water provision in the study area. Several methods of data collection were used which include observation, recording, measurement, and others. Major findings indicated that areas that were not well planned did not have access to water supply; lack of proper spatial planning had several disadvantages on water supply due to high population growth. The findings concluded that there should be coordination between authorities for proper planning for water supply and spatial planning and the recommendations were made which were for both physical planners, water management authorities, and the residents like coordination between authorities while planning in their field for better integration.en_US
