This purpose of this study was to analyze the way visual and auditory images enrich meaning in Ganda proverbs. There has been very few scholars that have studied and researched about how visual and auditory images enrich meaning in Ganda proverbs and therefore this research is handling this by comparing ideas of the different scholars on similar topics to address what is missing under the topic of imagery in Ganda proverbs. The study relies on majorly two theories of imagery that help in the understanding of the proverbs that is, the Picture theory by Ludwig Wittgenstein and the dual coding theory of Allan Paivio to draw meaning from the selected Ganda proverbs. The proverbs were mainly collected through interviews and discussions with majorly elderly people aged 40-60years of age and young adults in their twenties specifically in central Uganda where the Ganda people are settled. One young adult said, "Ataalukutambulire, entanda akusibira ya'menvu" as one of her proverbs and Nakandi a 45year old lady said that proverbs are rich in meaning and guide our daily lives and decision making basing on the knowledge of our forefathers and mentioned 70 percent of all the proverbs used in this study.en_US
