A dissertation submitted to the College of education and External Studies in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Education of Makerere University.en_US
The study examines unity and cooperation in selected Ankole folktales. The study was guided by two objectives; analyzing characterization and how different characters behave in teams and incidents of characters acting together in selected Ankole folktales. The study was both field and library-based, and employing a qualitative approach as well. The study used close reading to analyse the data. Close reading helped to develop a deep understanding and a precise interpretation of a literary passage that is based first and foremost on the words themselves. But a close reading does not stop there; rather it embraces larger themes and ideas evoked and/or implied by the passage itself.en_US
