This research critically explores the use of imagery and value of proverbs: A case Study of the selected proverbs of the Banyankole. This research was conducted in Kakyeeka, Mbarara City, Western Uganda. The similar researchers I approached showed me that proverbs had various interpretations, images, subject matter, themes, values, and stylistic devices used in saying them. These helped to determine the aesthetic value of each proverb that encountered during my study and the images therein. I strongly noticed that there is a huge gap in knowledge of oral literature especially proverbs because the old people would tell me how they do not know and others forgot them. However, I kept on pressing them hard during my interviews to get information from them which has helped me to come up with the knowledge which I put in this study research.en_US
