This study assessed the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism sector in Uganda, with a specific focus on the hospitality sector. The study utilized five objectives, namely; To assess the impact of Covid 19 on the change in the number of registered room bookings in accommodation establishments, to assess the impact of Covid-19 on the change in room booking cancellations in hotels and accommodation establishments, to determine the impact of Covid-19 on the change in the number of employees in hotels and accommodation establishments, to assess the effect of Covid-19 on the change in occupancy levels in hotels and accommodation establishments and to establish the effect of Covid-19 on the revenue generated from room selling by hotels and accommodation establishments. The study utilized a secondary data of the accommodation survey conducted by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) in collaboration with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). The required dataset was extracted into Microsoft Excel 2016 software and STATA 15.0 software was used in data analysis. The study established that, the registered room bookings, registered room booking cancellations, the Number of employees, Room occupancy levels and the Revenue generated from room selling were indeed affected by Covid-19. This was done by comparing the means of the two periods (before Covid-19 and During Covid-19) Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommends that the hotels and accommodation establishments through their management and umbrella body should come up with a flexible system that emphasize rescheduling of room bookings which would be favorable to both the client and the service provider instead of cancellation of room bookings that is harmful to the service provider in terms of refunding the room booking fee committed by the client as this would vii. significantly reduce the revenue lost in room sale as well as relieving the clients from pressure of travel to utilize their bookings.en_US
