dc.description.abstractThe study was aimed at assessing the impact of ICT on the performance of Makerere University students and basically at School of Statistics and Planning. Specifically, Gender of the student, Student's age at first holding the ICT gadget, ever attended computing course and attending online lectures were considered as the factors that affect the performance of Makerere University students. Primary data was used in this study and it was collected using questionnaires from 124 respondents and analysis was done using frequency distribution tables, Pearson chi square test for independence and ordinal logistic regression. From the results, out of 124 students, 54.03% were females and 45.97% were males. Findings from the bivariate analysis showed that student's age at first holding the ICT gadget, ever attended computing course and attending online lectures were all associated with students „performance (p<0.05). However, only student's age at first holding the ICT gadget and attending online lectures were significant at the multivariate level. From the entire research and the findings therefore, the following recommendations are made: Institutions of higher learning should ensure that students do online lectures and ensure they possess ICT gadgets in order improve the performance.en_US
