Analysis of the factors that influence women economic empowerment in Uganda

This research dissertation is about the analysis of the factors that affect women economic empowerment in Uganda. The researcher was motivated to carry out this study basing on the significant changes being experienced by women economically. The main objective of the study was to critically find out that factors that influence women economic empowerment in Uganda. To carry out the study, secondary data was used from Uganda National Household 2019/2020.The findings of the study were presented in form of tables and percentages worked out and totals given. The interpretations of the findings are given below after each table. Lastly, conclusions, summaries and recommendations to the study are drawn. Summaries are drawn basing on the findings of each theme of study. Findings shown that the average household size was four (4) persons. It also showed that majority (75.19%) of the women had attended school in the past. The study also revealed that (38.96%) of the women had attained some primary education and this was the highest. Majority (53%) of the interviewed women were adults. Findings of this study also revealed significant linkages between women economic empowerment and factors such as marital status, education level, disability and locations where one came from or stayed. This showed that women economic empowerment was affected by factors such as literacy level, marital status, regional differentials and also urban or rural location of women. Recommendations were given basing on the loop holes still existing in the economic empowerment of women. Such as ease access to education, reduction in regional grow imbalances.
