Construction of a wireless power transmitter device using inductive coupling.
Abstract
The concept of wireless power transmission was invented by Nikola Tesla in the year 1890 where he invented a Tesla coil which could transmit power through an air gap. This project mainly aims at constructing a wireless power transmitter using the method of inductive coupling in which power is transmitted using electromagnetic fields between two coils by the principle pf Faraday's law of induction. This wireless power transmitter transfers power though the power transmitted is determined by the separation between the coils, increasing the separation leads to decrease in power transmitted. The power transmitted can be increased by making more turns of the coil or using an amplifier. This idea can make remarkable changes in the transmission of power since it eliminates the use of conventional wire hence reducing transmission loses, electrical shocks and so forth.
