Sudden Ionospheric Disturbances are the immediate effects of solar flares, which impact the earth, and affect the upper atmospheric layers used for telecommunications. The aim of this project was to research about the occurrence of sudden ionospheric disturbances using Very Low Frequency radio transmissions. Due to the lack of a transmitter at our station, together with our supervisor embarked on collecting data from the SID data base, plotted them using an application of SID graph and the plots we managed to generate were indeed really potrayed the occurance of a solar flare.en_US
