The poor ventilation which constitutes a needless heating and cooling energy load and insufficient distribution system flows can reduce equipment capacity and efficiency, like the operation of computers in the lab while covered in disguise of protecting them from dust, justifies the designing of air flow detector system which will help to detect the rate of air flow inside it and to prevent over heating of that device. Overheating leads to damage of many systems. In this project, an air flow detector that is used to detect the amount of air flow is constructed to reduce on the negative effects of excessive levels of heat emitted from electric devices. The detector was designed using; LM7805 voltage regulator, LM358 Dual op-amp IC, variable resistor, capacitor, and Light Emitter Diode (LED). The testing of the detector showed that the circuit can give a visual indication of the rate of air flow. This device can also be used to check whether there is air flow in a given space. The filament of incandescent bulb is the sensing part of the filament. When there is no air flow the resistance of the filament will be high. Thus the air flow is detected and as an output the LED indicates.en_US
