Implementation of interactive home voice assistant
Abstract
Following advancements in the industry of technology, advanced devices and systems with
artificial intelligence through machine learning do tasks as though they have human brains
through different means but nevertheless humans have found challenges operating them due to
several related natural factors like disability, patients or fatigue, too much work at hand thus the
aim to implement an interactive home voice assistant.
These helps accomplish tasks given user voice commands depending on language of choice the
programmer designs them in as it’s in this project English and Luganda is the aimed target
with commands such us turn on air conditioner, turn on security lights, lamp on , shut or lock,
turn off security light, are selected in controlling analog home devices connected to Arduino uno
board that communicates with voice program in the computer via USB with serial
communication technology and code entirely programmed in python language.
With the project being implemented, different home lighting systems (that’s security light line,
bedroom lights and sitting room lights), 12V DC input door lock, the air conditioner are
controlled by voice and mobile application. With the project implemented, has limitations of it
being base on google servers and internet that puts use of deep speech and machine learning in
future work of this system.
