dc.description.abstractThe Study gives an overview of the interplay between Good and Evil characters presented in Banyankole Oral Tradition i.e. folktales. The study spells out certain aspects of good and evil portrayed by the different characters in the various folk tales narrated in the Ankole community and critically examine how the characters portrayed impact the lives of those listening to these folk tales. Chapter one is the introductory chapter. It contains background information to the study. This includes a brief background of Ankole as well as its people. Chapter two reviews various past literature on oral tradition especially on folk tales. Chapter three analyzes the methods of data collection used throughout the study. Chapter four presents the relevant data, its interpretation and analysis. It examines the different characters portrayed in the oral narratives and its impact on the people of Ankole. Chapter five of this study gives a conclusion on the findings of the study and the necessary recommendations based on the findings of the study.en_US
