dc.description.abstractThis report document is about a web-based land information system entitled “Digitland”. It has various sections explaining the processes that were taken from the very beginning of the project, data collection process to the testing and implementation of the system. The document addresses the problems of land disputes, bureaucracies, falsification, mismanagement and manipulation in the processes of ownership and transfer of land which have slowed down economic development in Uganda. It explains all the functionalities performed by this system and these include; enabling a land owner to add a property and fraud free online ownership transfer to another person once the property has been bought, enabling the buyer to explore property listed for sale and make the necessary payments for the property, allowing the escrow to confirm payments and generate agreements for the respective properties and very many other functionalities. It also continues to elaborate the data collection methods, system designs, implementation, testing and validation methods that were used to execute of this project.en_US
