dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to unveil the impact or effect of symbolism in as far as Sabiny folktales is concern in depicting the moral aspects of a society for this matter; the symbols which represent the themes of respect, hard work, humility and honest. The theoretical frame work which was basically psychoanalytic personality traits theory related it's tenets to the themes portrayed .The study was conducted in Chesower sub county, Bukwo district where most of the people with knowledge in regards to Oral Literature resides basically on Folktales. It is well established that the means of interaction between the researcher and the respondents is an alternative made by the researcher herself. The researcher for instance decides which strategy to use such that the study becomes successful. To come up with this, I used qualitative approach with the intension of selecting folktales, identify symbols and how each symbol brings out the theme of hard work, respect, humility and respect respectively thus interviews and observation were applied. The interpretation and analysis of the findings of this study was centered at symbolism and its impact. The power it has in influencing a given message. | en_US |
