For the past years, folktales have been preserved and passed on orally among the Bamasaaba of eastern Uganda. Folktales are usually imagined short narratives which last for 3-5 minutes and in most cases bear animal characters to portray social wisdom and enable young generation to be disciplined with acceptable behaviors of community. This study aims to find out characterization in Lumasaaba folktales in relation to effect on daily lives of Bamasaaba. The methods that were used to achieve this study were participation observation, interview guides among others. Characterization sounds strange to the community but is very central in value addition of oral narratives and achieving their roles in society and more understanding.en_US
