dc.description.abstractPhysical and sexual violence had increased gradually over time affecting 29% to59% of young males and female, whereas sensitation programmes and knowledge is high. There exists therefore a very wide knowledge practice gap. Therefore this study was intended to determine the behavioral factors associated with violence among students at Makerere University, main campus. The study made use of quantitative method through online interview administered questionnaires. The study used descriptive statistics,cross tabulations and logistic regression for data analysis. Results from the descriptive statistics indicateded that; 54.35% and 45.65% of the respondets where male and female respectively. Among the respondent 78.33% were ever been experienced either physical or sexual violence.results of cross tabulation indicated that male students are more likely to be experience physical violence and female are more likely to experience sexual violence at Makerere university. The logistic regression analysis result revealed through some factors like place of residence and alcohol use were statistically significant in determining physical and sexual violence The study recommended for the need to sensitize students and the population at large about their rights so that students and the population know the dangers of physical and sexual violence, this will help to reduce physical and sexual intimate partner dating, school violence among the public.en_US
