The main purpose of this study was to explore pedagogical paradigm shifts in the 21st Century teaching and learning in African schools. And this can only be done by using participant observation methods. According to Antwi and Hamza (2015), this can best be done by observation of learners in class. Specific objectives: 1. To describe the changes in science education that have been taking place in Africa. 2. To find out the effectiveness of educational shifts in enhancing learning of science subjects. 3.
