The objective of this study was to investigate the role of commercial banks in supporting small scale farmers in Kikuube district. Primary data was used based on a sample of 100 respondents which was selected using simple random and systematic sampling. Sample size was determined using the Cochran’s formula (1997). The analysis was made using SPSS. It involved univariates, bivariates and multivariate analyses. The findings revealed that majority of the small scale farmers in Buhimba town council are females. Findings further revealed that most small scale farmers in Buhimba town council are 35 and above years of age. The research questions of the study were answered as it was found out that commercial banks aren’t the main source of capital to small scale famers. The study also found out that commercial banks have not contributed much towards the growth of small scale farmers. The results of the study show that small scale farmers have a mean house hold size of 6.74. The results also show that the highest percentage of small scale farmers (66.0) were females and the rest (34.0) were males. The highest percentage of small scale farmers (56.0) went up to secondary level of education and the least percentage (6.0) attended tertiary. The highest percentage of small scale farmers (40.0) were 35 and above years. It was also found out that commercial banks have not contributed much in providing support to small scale farmers. It was recommended that commercial banks in Kikuube district should advertise more about their services to small scale farmers. This is because most small scale farmers lack knowledge about the services provided by the banks.en_US
