dc.description.abstract | OSBPs An OSBP is a border facility that combines two stops for national border control
processing into one consolidating border control functions in a shared space for exiting one
country and entering another. Some of the OSBPs in Uganda include; Katuna, Mutukula, Busia,
Malaba, Elegu, Mirama Hills.
In Europe, the OSBP concept first appeared in the 1920s when France and Belgium co-located
border facilities in a farmhouse straddling their border and offered the possibility to
administrative and judicial authorities of both countries to interview suspects without having to
apply for extradition. (NEPAD, 2016)
In the 2000s the OSBP concept began to be applied across Africa. In 2004, the East African
Community (EAC) together with the Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination. | en_US |
