Symbolism of Kiganda proverbs and the theme of morals.
Abstract
This study seeks to make an analysis of the significance of proverbs in instilling morals among the Baganda. Proverbs are simple and insightful, traditional sayings that express a perceived truth based on common sense or experience. Different cultures have different proverbs most of them told in their own languages, some can mean the same thing but the difference is in the language, and similarity is in the meaning. Proverbs are often metaphorical and use formulaic language and collectively form a genre of folklore.
