The determinants of the adoption of mechanized farming in Uganda central region

Abstract

This research paper aims to investigate the determinants of the adoption of mechanized farming in Uganda Central Region. With the increasing demand for food and the need to improve agricultural productivity, mechanized farming has become a crucial aspect of modern agriculture. Using a survey of farmers in Uganda Central Region, this study identifies the factors that influence the decision to adopt mechanized farming. The study finds that education level, access to credit facilities, and availability of land are significant determinants of the adoption of mechanized farming. The study recommends that policymakers should focus on providing education and credit facilities to farmers and improving land access to increase the adoption of mechanized farming in the region. The findings of this study will be useful to policymakers, farmers, and stakeholders in the agricultural sector to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve food security in the region.
