This research is set to analyze the way irony is brought out in Ganda proverbs and its effectiveness in bringing out verbal irony and sarcasm. Using my knowledge of oral literature and different readings about it, I was able to do a lot in the field of proverbs. Through this research, I was able to see that indeed irony plays a big role in giving the proverbs their underlying meaning and passing on morals through the different types of irony used and employed in the proverbs.en_US
