dc.description.abstractThis research addresses the challenges faced by traditional voting systems and proposes a technologically advanced solution to enhance efficiency, security, and transparency. By integrating face recognition and fingerprint authentication technologies, the proposed smart voting system improves voter identification accuracy, reduces fraud, and instills trust in the electoral process. This abstract provides an overview of the project's significance to readers interested in innovative solutions for secure voting systems. This project aims to overcome limitations of traditional voting systems, including manual verification processes, vulnerability to fraud, and inefficiency. The scope involves developing a smart voting system using face recognition (Viola-Jones) and the MantraFS100 fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The main argument is that leveraging these technologies enhances voter identification accuracy, mitigates unauthorized access, and ensures voting process integrity. The methodology includes requirement analysis, system design, biometric data collection and integration, and implementing security measures. Face detection, alignment, feature extraction, and fingerprint scanning are integrated. Security measures include data encryption, access control, and hashing algorithms. The system undergoes comprehensive testing, evaluation, and refinement for performance and reliability. The project demonstrates successful integration of face recognition and fingerprint authentication into a smart voting system. Biometric authentication accurately identifies voters, and encryption ensures secure data transmission and storage. Statistical results from testing and evaluation validate the system's performance and functionality. This research contributes to knowledge on secure voting systems by proposing a technologically advanced solution. Integrating face recognition and fingerprint authentication has practical applications in improving voter identification accuracy and reducing fraud.
