dc.description.abstractThis study sought to examine the impact of rent on the performance of small scale enterprises and the case study was kalerwe town. The specific objectives of the study were; To determine the relationship between ownership status and performance of small scale enterprises, to establish the effect of rent payment on the firm age of small scale enterprises, to assess the relationship between rent and performance of small scale enterprises, to determine the relationship between the location and performance of small scale enterprises. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyse the data.Data was analysed using descriptive statistics. Qualitative approach provided ways of discerning, examining, comparing and contrasting and interpreting meaningful patterns or assembled relevant data to determine how research questions were answered at hand. Quantitative data analysis helped me to analyse and categories frequencies and percentages. Simple descriptive tabulations were used for quantitative analysis. I used primary data where questionnaires method was used to collect data from students regarding these variables. The main method of data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire administered to 81 students. The data were analysed using logistic regression and the results showed that the location of the business affected the performance.en_US
