This study examines the factors influencing vulnerable women's access to government poverty reduction programmes in Rukungiri District, Western Uganda. Using quantitative data from 206 vulnerable women, logistic regression analysis identified age, information availability, and bribery as significant predictors of programme access. Middle-aged and older women were more likely to access poverty reduction programmes than younger women, highlighting the importance of experience, knowledge, and social networks in navigating programme eligibility and application processes. Women with access to information about poverty reduction programmes were also more likely to access them, emphasizing the significance of awareness campaigns and community outreach in promoting equitable access, particularly in rural areas. Troublingly, women who reported paying bribes were more likely to access poverty reduction programmes, revealing corruption as a barrier to access. This underscores the need for addressing corruption within programme administration. The study emphasizes the necessity for tailored, context-specific approaches that consider the unique needs and challenges faced by different demographic subgroups. Recommendations include; Tailoring programmes to demographic characteristics, Enhancing information dissemination, Streamlining bureaucratic processes, Expanding social protection programmes, and Empowering livelihoods among others. Suggestions for further research encompass impact assessments of tailored programmes, evaluation of communication channels, in-depth investigations into corruption, and longitudinal studies to monitor changes over time. Additionally, research addressing bureaucratic challenges and their reduction is essential for improving equitable access to government poverty reduction programmes. In conclusion, this research sheds light on the multifaceted factors affecting vulnerable women's access to poverty reduction programmes and provides valuable insights for policymakers and programme administrators seeking to enhance the well-being of marginalized communities in similar contexts.en_US
