Design and construction of a biogass burner
Abstract
The global energy demand is growing rapidly, and about 88% of this demand is met at present time by fossil fuels. Scenarios have shown that the energy demand will increase during this century by a factor of two or three. At the same time, concentration of greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere are rising rapidly, with fossil fuel derived CO emissions being the most important contributor.
In this context, biogas from waste residues and energy crops will play a vital role in future. Biogas is a versatile renewable energy source, which can be used for replacement of fossil fuels in power and heat production, it can be used also as gaseous vehicle fuel. Methane-rich biogas (biomethane) can replace also natural gas as a feedstock for producing chemicals and materials.
The report entails the sturdy on the design and construction of a biogas burner using engineering principles by determining the different design requirements and specifications of the burner, the preliminary and detailed design of the burner and finally constructing and testing the performance evaluation of the burner.
