Design and implementation of surveillance robot (UAV) in flood-hit areas.
Abstract
This project was to build and implement a surveillance robot (UAV) in flood hit areas. The
system is more advanced than the existing means of monitor and surveillance in Uganda and it
was designed to save human life by having a system that tracks humans sends and gives a live
feed to control center. For instance, the ESC, GPS, Brushless Motors, FPV camera are integrated
all into the system. The UAV controls the motor rotations in a sequence for subsequent
movements using the ESC. The project was to be created and implemented as a prototype of
UAV based on a flight controller or Arduino. At present day surveillance of international borders, public places, hazardous and remote places and affected areas with natural hazards is a difficult task. The human operatives tend to possible
try their level best and end up beaten by capacity, fastness in availing quick information from affected areas Floods are common natural disaster occurring in most parts of the world Direct impacts concern damages caused by the physical contact of floodwaters with commodities and are therefore related to the physical destruction of such items. The current means of rescue or preventive measures in Uganda are to forecast when flooding is most likely to occur, rescue people when the floods are calm, save accessible properties. These means are inefficient to recover the possible loss because of inability of the rescue team. A
reasonable solution to aid is to intervene human work with robot. The robot can easily convey information at very fast rate in flood hit areas to the control center to entice rescue activities since human life is very precious. .
