Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to prevent transmission of infectious diseases thus the most important feature in handwashing is water. This project aims firstly, to analyse the dependence of water availability on handwashing place on wealth index of the household combined in Uganda. Secondly to analyse the dependence of the water availability at handwashing place on the age of the head of the household in Uganda, thirdly, to analyse the dependence of presence of water at handwashing place on highest education level attained in Uganda, and lastly, is to analyse the presence of water at handwashing place with region in Uganda. The factors examined include age of the individual, sex of the head of the household, wealth index combined, location of the water source, kind of toilet facility, region, and level of education. Secondary data collected during the Uganda Demographic and Health Survey of 2016 was cleaned and used. The factors that had a 5% level of significance on the availability of water at hand washing place included wealth index combined, age, education level and region. This was done using multivariate analysis. Non-Government Organizations in conjunction with the ministry of water and environment are recommended to sensitize the people of Uganda more about the merits of having water at handwashing place and also using the water appropriately in order to reduce the spread of diseases like COVID 19, and this can be done through putting water where it can be easily accessed.en_US
