A Project Report submitted to the Department of Physics in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Science with Education of Makerere University.en_US
The project examines the impacts of energetic electron precipitation on the atmosphere focusing mainly on the upper atmosphere. It looks at how energetic electron precipitation impacts the variation of the OH in the atmosphere particularly at an altitude of 78km.It is observed that an increase in Energetic Electron Precipitation leads to decrease in the concentration of hydroxyl radical from about 3.7ppbv to less than 1ppbv on 10th of January 2008 and decrease in the value of DST index.en_US
