Makerere University augmented reality for campus navigation and chatbot
Abstract
There aren’t any campus navigation systems available at Makerere University or in all of Uganda right now that can handle simultaneous indoor and outside localization. It can be difficult to navigate Makerere University because it is spread out over more than 300 acres of land. There isn’t a single, comprehensive source of information that might instruct students on how to use the many university resources and give them all the details they require about the institution. In order to address the pertinent issues, Makerere University Augmented Reality for Campus Navigation and Chatbot is designed in this study. Through the use of an augmented reality feature and a chatbot that served as a personal assistant, this project attempted to create a web-based application for Makerere University that would help users navigate the campus. The project ChatGPT API for the chatbot and AR.js for augmented reality, which were both integrated into the web application. The report also emphasizes the project’s methodology, system study, analysis, and design, as well as the results presentation, limitations, references, and conclusion.
