This study analyses the significance of symbolism in the selected fables among the sabiny. It’s intended to identify the symbols present in the fables and how they help the community of the sabiny people to shape the morals of the community individuals for example hard work, honesty, equality, build critical thinking amongst the community members among others and to pass these values to the young generation. The research also utilized a number of methods in collecting and analyzing data and they include focused group discussions, interviews and observation. The analysis shows that symbolism is an important aspect that requires special attention especially how the characters and events presented in the fables are symbolic and how they help in grasping the subject matter of the fables and deriving the lessons to be learnt at the end.en_US
