Poultry farming, which involves raising birds such as hens, ducks, and turkeys, plays a vital role in the global industry for egg, meat, and manure production. However, the African market lags behind, accounting for just 4% of the industry, and faces challenges related to feeding management, temperature control, diseases, and security. To address these hindrances, a comprehensive Software Requirements Document has been developed, covering essential functionalities such as mobile phone alerts and sensor configurations. These requirements were diligently implemented using powerful tools like Visual Studio Code, Thonny IDE, and Raspberry Pi computers. Thorough inspection and testing of the Automatic Poultry Management System (APMS) ensured the seamless functioning, compliance with requirements, and enhanced security of the hardware, software, and network components. With successful implementation and testing, the installation phase followed, leading to the eagerly anticipated acceptance testing. This stage marked an important milestone as the APMS demonstrated its capability to revolutionize poultry farming and overcome the existing challenges, paving the way for increased productivity and prosperity in the industry.
