Wellness is a multidimensional state of being, describing the existence of positive health in an individual as exemplified by quality of life and a sense of well-being. In Uganda, there is a growing need for wellness monitoring and management, especially among the aging population. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), life expectancy in Uganda has increased from 44 years in 1990 to 63 years in 2020. Preparing to take on your own ness can be overwhelming, but there are a few simple things you can do to make the transition smoother using wellness monitoring tools. A research study was conducted by the team to explore the challenges faced by individuals in maintaining wellness and investigate the potential use of technology to enhance their body wellness conditions. The team designed a wearable wellness checker (WWC) to monitor body parameters such as body temperature, heart rate, walking steadiness, and sleeping patterns. The WWC consists of two interconnected components: the embedded system, comprising a wearable device, and a mobile application. The embedded system (WWC device) is a wearable wristband that captures real-time data on the individual's body parameters sand ends them to the mobile application. The mobile application displays body parameter visualization, providing comprehensive insights and appropriate advisory about the individual's wellness status.en_US
