This technical report presents the redesign process of a Patient Heave prototype, aiming to improve its functionality, safety, and user experience. The current prototype was evaluated, and its strengths and weaknesses were identified. Through extensive research and analysis, including market research and user needs assessment, a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for an effective Patient Heave was developed. Design concepts were generated through brainstorming and ideation, followed by sketching and storyboarding to visualize potential improvements. The selection of the final design was based on predefined criteria, considering factors such as usability, ergonomics, and manufacturability. The redesigned prototype incorporated key changes and enhancements to address the identified shortcomings, focusing on improved maneuverability, ease of use, and enhanced safety features. Testing and evaluation were conducted to validate the redesigned prototype, including user testing and feedback collection. The results of the evaluation demonstrated significant improvements in functionality, usability, and user satisfaction. The report also discusses the challenges encountered during the redesign process and outlines the lessons learned for future prototyping projects. Overall, the redesigned Patient Heave prototype offers a promising solution for safe and efficient patient transfers, and recommendations for further development are provided.en_US
