dc.description.abstractThe study on factors associated with school dropout among the youths in Uganda was carried out in Bwaise among the youths between the ages 15-25. A non-probability study was used where judgmental and purposive sampling was used by the researcher to identify the youths in the area. During the study, 100 respondents were interviewed in the area and information on variables age, gender, religion, marital status, Income level, Parental education level, Family size, Youths employment status, teenage pregnancies, access to scholastic materials and presence of schools in the area. In the study, univariate analysis was carried out where the descriptive statistics were obtained that is to say the mean and standard deviation. A bivariate analysis was also done and the correlation between school dropout and the independent variables. A multivariate analysis binary logistic regression and marginal effects were also done to find out the significance of the variables on school dropout among the youths in Bwaise. According to the analysis from the primary data collected from the youths in Bwaise, marital status and access to scholastic materials have a significant impact on the school dropout among the youths thus school dropout. The researcher suggested various solutions on how to reduce school dropout among the youths in Uganda and these included providing scholastic materials to students, reducing prices on scholastic materials, encouraging married youths to stay in school in case of pregnancy education, sensitizing the youths about the importance of education and many othersen_US
