A project report submitted to the Department of Physics in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Science of Makerere University.en_US
In this study, the effects of shading on the performance of solar PV modules was investigated using IV curve measurement technique. The PV module was subjected to different shading patterns using cardboards and the corresponding IV and PV curves obtained using the IV curve tracer. Results showed that shading reduces the power output of the module and that the reduction in power output not only depends on the number of solar cells shaded but also on the position of the shaded solar cells on the module.en_US
